|The Cromer and
Sheringham Circuit of the Methodist Church
The Cromer and Sheringham Circuit occupies a coastal strip of North Norfolk, some fourteen miles long and five miles wide. Its eight churches are situated in the two seaside towns of Cromer and Sheringham, the four coastal villages of Weybourne, West Runton, East Runton and Overstrand and the two inland villages of Bodham and Gresham.
The Circuit area also includes various small villages without a Methodist Church, e.g. Salthouse, Kelling, Aylmerton, Northrepps and Roughton. Agriculture and tourism are the two main industries. There are traditional fisheries, light industries and housing development in the area. Many former holiday visitors have retired here. The population includes a high proportion of elderly people, but also enough young families to support High Schools at Cromer and Sheringham and at least ten schools for younger children.
